Dengue: 5 more die; 1,110 new hospitalized in 24 hours

Five more people have died of dengue in the past 24 hours bringing the total number of deaths this year to 107.


A total of 1,110 dengue patients were admitted to hospitals across the country in the last 24 hours, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

Of them, 440 were from Dhaka Division, 65 from Mymensingh Division, 175 from Chattogram Division, 190 from Khulna Division, 32 from Rangpur Division, 91 from Rajshahi Division, 110 from Barishal Division, and seven from Sylhet Division.

A total of 38,280 dengue patients have been admitted to hospitals across the country this year, so far, while 35,433 patients have recovered after receiving treatment in hospitals and have been discharged, reports BSS.

A total of 102,861 people were infected with dengue, and 413 people died from the disease last year.
