Two siblings killed in lightning strikes in Bagerhat

Two siblings were killed when a thunderbolt struck them while working at a paddy field in Shoulkhali village of Morrelganj upazila in Bagerhat district on Wednesday.


The deceased were identified as Bidhan Bachar, 54, and his younger brother Manik Bachar, 39—two sons of Monoranjan Bachar of Shoulkhali village.

Local people said two brothers died on the spot after being struck by lightning while working in the paddy field during rain near their home at around 11:30 am, said Md Shahidullah, Officer-in-Charge of Morrelganj Police Station, reports UNB.

On information, police rushed to the spot and recovered the bodies.
