Chief Adviser Dr Muhammad Yunus
Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus is set to speak at the Boao Forum for Asia (BFA) Annual Conference 2025 tomorrow.
Professor Yunus will address the opening plenary of the forum at 11:30 AM local time, according to his Deputy Press Secretary Abul Kalam Azad. Other key speakers at the session will include Lao Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone, Executive Vice Premier of China Ding Xuexiang, former UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, and BFA Secretary General Zhang Jun. The event will take place at the BFA International Convention Center in Hainan.
Additionally, the Director-General of the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), Qu Dongyu, will meet with Professor Yunus at 2:00 PM local time. The Chief Adviser will also hold a bilateral meeting with Ban Ki-moon and receive a visit from the Deputy Prime Minister of Russia.
Professor Yunus arrived in China today on a four-day official visit. He was welcomed at Qionghai Boao International Airport by Bangladesh’s Ambassador to China, Md Nazmul Islam, and the Vice Governor of Hainan Province.
On the sidelines of the forum, Professor Yunus is expected to meet with CEOs of major global and Chinese companies. His visit will also include a meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping in Beijing on March 28 to discuss bilateral matters.
On March 29, Yunus will deliver a lecture at Peking University, where he will receive an honorary doctorate degree. He will also engage in talks with Chinese hospital chains about establishing joint ventures to set up hospitals in Bangladesh.
The Chief Adviser is scheduled to return to Bangladesh on March 29.
