Adviser to the Ministries of Environment, Forests, Climate Change, and Water Resources, Syeda Rizwana Hasan, emphasized today that building consensus in the national interest is crucial to gaining the trust of the people.

She made this statement while speaking to reporters after paying tribute to the martyrs of the Liberation War at the National Memorial in Savar, on the occasion of Independence Day.

"Efforts are underway to ensure a free and fair election that meets the expectations of the people," said Rizwana.

She also highlighted the significant challenge of holding a fair trial for the July-August killings, noting, “We will work to create an environment of trust, ensuring that people feel they are getting justice through this trial.”

Rizwana expressed hope that all parties would prioritize national interest and work toward necessary reforms based on the people’s demands. "Over time, we will come together to build the consensus needed for the country's progress," she said.

The adviser stressed the importance of rising above personal interests and achieving consensus, even as differing views and opinions persist.
