Girls empowered against child marriage in Kalapara on Thursday 20 Aug 2026.



Patuakhali: Child students and guardians showed red card to child marriage in Kalapara, Patuakhali. Besides, child students were provided with assistance to prevent them from dropping out of education.

On Thursday afternoon, Upazila Executive Officer Md. Arifuzzaman, who was present as the chief guest at the meeting organized to prevent child marriage at the Kalapara Upazila Parishad meeting room, handed over this assistance to the child students.

Acting Executive Director of AVAAS Md. Shahidul Islam delivered the welcome speech at the meeting organized by AVAAS and supported by ActionAid Bangladesh. Acting Secondary Education Officer Md. Moniruzzaman Khan, journalist Mejbah Uddin Mannu and others spoke as special guests.

At the event, five bicycles were provided to five girl children, five thousand taka education scholarships were provided to 10 girl children, and 15 thousand taka income-enhancing assistance was provided to the families of 15 girl children. - Gofran Palash
