More than 770 US service members have been killed or injured since the conflict with Iran began, according to casualty data published by the US Department of Defense.

The Pentagon's casualty database showed 757 US military personnel injured and 18 killed as of Wednesday, after more than 50 additional casualties were added to the records.

Meanwhile, tensions between Washington and Tehran have continued to escalate, with Iran rejecting US President Donald Trump's threats of severe economic measures against countries that provide assistance to Iran.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi dismissed Trump's declaration of an “Economic D-Day”, saying such measures would result in further setbacks for the United States.

Araghchi also accused Trump of using the threat as a distraction from what he described as America's own economic problems, including rising debt and interest costs.

Trump warned on Wednesday that countries allowing their financial institutions, businesses, airports or government entities to provide assistance to Iran would face “tremendous” economic consequences.

He also called on US allies to join Washington in isolating and defeating what he described as the Iranian threat.
