Worker’s body recovered from elevator shaft in Demra

The deceased was identified as Abdus Salam Sheikh, 25, a resident of Dattakanda village under Chauhali upazila of Sirajganj.

Salam had been working and living at the under-construction building, named Friendship Enterprise, on Badsha Mia Road in Demra.

Demra Police Station Sub-Inspector Mohammad Ahsan Habib said police recovered Salam’s body from the building after receiving information.

The SI said initial investigation found marks of injuries on different parts of Salam’s body.

The body was sent to the morgue of Dhaka Medical College Hospital for autopsy on Wednesday afternoon, reports UNB.

The exact cause of death will be known after receiving the autopsy report, he said.
