Gaibandha schoolteacher found hanging 2 days after wedding
Police recovered the hanging body of a schoolteacher from a banana orchard in Gobindaganj upazila of Gaibandha on Friday, two days after his marriage.
The deceased was identified as Md Abu Salem, an assistant teacher at Unique International School at Baluwahat in Katakhali.
According to locals, Salem married Shyamoli Akter of Bagda Bazar area under Katabari union on the night of August 26.
He left home for Balua Bazar on Thursday morning. As he did not return home by evening, his relatives began searching for him in different places but could not find him.
On Friday noon, locals spotted his body hanging from a tree in a banana orchard in the area and informed his relatives, who alerted police.
Police later recovered the body from the scene.
Officer-in-Charge of Gobindaganj Police Station Mohammad Mozammel Haque said police recovered the hanging body of the schoolteacher, but the exact cause of his death could not be immediately determined, reports UNB.
“The matter is being investigated. The actual cause of death will be known after receiving the autopsy report,” he said.
