Home Affairs Adviser Lieutenant General (retd) Jahangir Alam Chowdhury assured on Saturday that there is no threat of conspiracy in Dhaka, despite the capital being largely empty due to the Eid holidays.

"By the grace of Almighty Allah, there is no threat," he said in response to concerns about potential disruptions during the holiday period. The adviser made the statement after inspecting the Gabtoli Bus Terminal in Dhaka.

His remarks come amid worries about the relative emptiness of the city, especially during the extended Eid vacation. He also praised the smooth travel experience for the public, highlighting the government's effective management and people-centric initiatives.

"We are doing everything possible to ensure safe and convenient travel for people heading home for Eid and returning to Dhaka after the holidays," he said.

The adviser also emphasized the extensive security measures in place to maintain safety in the capital. "Even with many on holiday, police, armed forces, BGB, Ansar, Coast Guard, and Fire Service personnel are working tirelessly to uphold law and order," he noted.

He commended the dedication of law enforcement agencies and assured that steps have been taken to prevent crimes like theft and robbery during the holidays.

"If any conspiracy arises, we will handle it with the support of the people. When the public unites, no conspiracy can succeed," he added.

During his visit, Jahangir Alam also instructed the traffic department to ensure smooth traffic flow at bus terminals and key entry/exit points in the city. He further directed law enforcement to take immediate action against any complaints of passengers being overcharged.
