
A Krishna Chura sapling is being planted on a Kuakata Road on Thursday 13 Aug 2026.
Patuakhali: Patuakhali Deputy Commissioner and Kuakata Beach Management Committee President Dr. Mohammad Shahid Hossain Chowdhury called for coordinated initiatives at the Kuakata Beach Management Committee meeting to further develop the tourism potential of the Kuakata tourist center in Patuakhali, improve the quality of tourist services, clean the beach and protect the environment. He made this call in the president's speech at the meeting held at the Kuakata Tourism Holiday Complex on Thursday (August 13) at 11 am.
Kalapara Upazila Executive Officer and Beach Management Committee Member Secretary Md. Arifuzzaman, Kalapara Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) and Kuakata Municipal Administrator Yasin Sadek, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Mohipur Police Station Md. Shamim Ahmed and Nazmul Hossain, in-charge of the Tourist Police Kuakata Zone were present at that time.
The meeting discussed various tourism-related issues including maintaining the cleanliness and beauty of Kuakata beach, ensuring the safety of tourists, increasing the quality of service, making beach management more effective, and strengthening coordination between various government and private organizations.
Earlier, the Deputy Commissioner inaugurated several initiatives to enhance the beauty of Kuakata and increase opportunities for knowledge. Planting of Krishna chura and Sonalu trees on various roads of Kuakata, an exceptional library for tourists and locals to gain knowledge, enhancing the beauty of DC Lake, and a shed for producing organic fertilizer from biodegradable waste were inaugurated. – Gofran Palash
