Mirza Abbas to return home Sept 2 after treatment

BNP Standing Committee Member and Prime Minister’s Adviser Mirza Abbas will return home on September 2 following treatment in Singapore and Malaysia for a prolonged period.


Confirming the matter on Sunday, BNP Media Cell member Shayrul Kabir Khan said Mirza Abbas is scheduled to arrive in Dhaka at 9:00pm on September 2 on a Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight.

He said Mirza Abbas, after receiving treatment in Singapore and Malaysia for a long time as advised by a medical board, has recovered considerably by the grace of Allah, and is returning home from Malaysia.

Mirza Abbas was admitted to Prince Court Medical Centre in Malaysia on April 14 for physiotherapy.

Earlier, on March 11, he suddenly fell unconscious during iftar and was admitted to Evercare Hospital Dhaka.

A medical team performed emergency brain surgery on him. Following the operation, he was flown to Singapore General Hospital by an air ambulance on March 15 for better treatment.

After nearly a month of intensive care in Singapore, doctors advised physiotherapy, leading to his admission at the specialised Prince Court Medical Centre in Malaysia, reports UNB.
