In the 24 hours leading up to Sunday morning, 22 new dengue cases were reported across the country, pushing the total number of infections to 1,737 for the year, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

The new cases were spread across several divisions, with nine in Barishal Division (outside City Corporations), three in Chattogram Division (outside City Corporations), seven in Dhaka Division (outside City Corporations), one in Dhaka South City Corporation, one in Khulna Division (outside City Corporations), and one in Mymensingh Division (outside City Corporations).

Fortunately, the number of fatalities remains unchanged at 13, with no new deaths reported during this period. As of now, 102 dengue patients are receiving treatment in hospitals nationwide.

Last year, the dengue outbreak claimed 575 lives. In 2023, the country recorded 101,214 cases, with 100,040 recoveries, according to the DGHS.

The ongoing battle against dengue comes as health authorities urge the public to remain vigilant, particularly as the nationwide Vitamin A campaign begins this Saturday.
