Two more children die with measles symptoms

Two more children died with measles symptoms across the country in the past 24 hours bringing the total number of deaths from suspected measles to 948 since March 15.


The number of deaths from confirmed measles and measles-like symptoms has reached 1,048 from March 15, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

A total of 1,245 suspected measles cases were reported in the past 24 hours, while the total number of suspected cases reached 177,725 between March 15 and September 18.

A total of 52 confirmed measles cases were reported in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 20,395.

Since March 15, a total of 156,718 patients with suspected measles were admitted to hospitals. Of them, 150,633 patients recovered and were discharged from hospitals.

There were no deaths from confirmed measles in the past 24 hours. Since March 15, however, 100 people have died from confirmed measles, reports BSS.
