Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus participated in the Boao Forum for Asia (BFA) conference today, where he delivered a speech on the importance of sustainable development and economic collaboration in Asia. Notable figures attending the opening plenary session included the Prime Minister of Lao PDR, Sonexay Siphandone, Executive Vice Premier of the State Council of China, Ding Xuexiang, and former UN Secretary-General and Chairman of the Boao Forum, Ban Ki-moon. Also present were the BFA Secretary General, Zhang Jun, and other prominent leaders from Asia and beyond.

The Boao Forum is an important platform for discussing regional economic issues, fostering international cooperation, and addressing the challenges faced by Asian nations in a rapidly changing global environment. It brings together political leaders, business executives, academics, and thought leaders from across the region to explore ways to enhance economic growth, trade, and collaboration in Asia.

Professor Yunus, known for his pioneering work in social entrepreneurship and microfinance, shared his insights on the critical role of innovation and inclusive economic models in shaping the future of Asia. He emphasized the need for policies that prioritize social welfare, sustainable development, and the empowerment of marginalized communities.

The conference, which continues throughout the week, is expected to feature a series of high-level discussions and debates on pressing issues, such as climate change, technological advancement, and regional security. The BFA is seen as a key venue for fostering dialogue and cooperation among Asian nations and beyond, helping to build a more stable and prosperous future for the region.
