Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has joined the opening session of the Bay of Bengal Conversation 2026, an international strategic dialogue being held in Dhaka.

The prime minister arrived at the Grand Ballroom of the Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel in the capital at around 9:15am on Saturday, October 3, for the inaugural programme.

The three-day international dialogue is being organised by the Centre for Governance Studies under the theme, “Fragments, Frontiers, Futures: Navigating Power, Technology and Trust in a World Rewritten.” The event is being held from October 3 to 5.

Tarique Rahman is scheduled to deliver the inaugural address, focusing on Bangladesh's position, global changes, international cooperation and regional opportunities.

The event brings together political leaders, diplomats, researchers, economists, policymakers, journalists and other participants from different countries.

Sessions during the three-day dialogue will cover global power shifts, international security, economic transformation, climate change, emerging technologies, democracy, governance, and connectivity and trade centred on the Bay of Bengal.

The official programme describes the conference as a platform for discussions on geopolitics, technology, economic realignment, climate resilience, human security, trust and governance.
