No medical centre would be allowed to charge more than the fixed amount for the required medical tests, said a press release issued on Wednesday.
The ministry urged Malaysia-bound workers not to pay more than Tk 8,000 under any circumstances and warned them against contacting brokers or middlemen for medical examinations.
It also clarified that no medical centre would operate under any specific recruiting agency.
Selected workers would be free to undergo medical examinations at any authorised medical centre.
It further said that if a worker decided to proceed with a different recruiting agency after receiving a medical slip through another agency, the previous agency would have to forward the medical report without delay.
No objection or excuse from the agency issuing the slip would be accepted in this regard.
Workers have been advised to immediately inform the ministry, if any medical centre demands more than the fixed fee or subjects them to harassment, unnecessary delays or other irregularities.
Complaints can be sent to the ministry through email at secretary@probashi.gov.bd.
The ministry also reminded workers that no fee is required for a MiGRAMS slip.
It said the ministry would regularly monitor and inspect the activities of medical centres and take strict legal action against those found involved in irregularities.
It also urged Malaysia-bound workers, recruiting agencies and medical centres to strictly follow the instructions to ensure a transparent, orderly and systematic overseas employment process, reports UNB.
