
Rain and thunderstorms are likely in parts of four divisions of Bangladesh, while some areas in three other divisions may also experience temporary showers, according to the Bangladesh Meteorological Department.
Rangpur, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions may see light to moderate rain or thunderstorms accompanied by gusty winds at a few places. Dhaka, Mymensingh and Khulna divisions may experience similar weather at one or two locations.
Elsewhere, the weather is expected to remain mainly dry, with temporarily partly cloudy skies in some areas. Day and night temperatures are likely to remain nearly unchanged across the country.
The Meteorological Department issued the forecast in a bulletin on Saturday, October 3.
According to the bulletin, the axis of the monsoon trough extends from Uttar Pradesh through Bihar, West Bengal and southern Bangladesh to Assam. The monsoon is currently less active over Bangladesh and remains weak to moderate over the northern Bay of Bengal.
The country's highest rainfall in the past 24 hours was recorded at 51mm in Sreemangal. The highest temperature during the period was 35.4°C, recorded in Tangail and Jashore.
In Dhaka, relative humidity stood at 73% on Saturday evening, while winds were blowing from the south and southeast at 8–12 kilometres per hour.
