Housewife hacked to death in Cox’s Bazar

A 50-year-old housewife was hacked to death by miscreants at Kalagazipara in Maheshkhali upazila of Cox’s Bazar district on Monday night.


The deceased was identified as Rani Shil, wife of Robi Shil of the area.

Quoting family members, Abdus Sultan, Officer-in-Charge of Maheshkhali Police Station said a group of miscreants stormed into the house of the victim when she was alone at around 7pm.

They later stabbed Rani indiscriminately, leaving her critically injured.

She was taken to Chakaria Upazila Health Complex where the doctors declared her dead.

On information, police rushed to the spot.

However, police are investigating the incident, said OC.

The couple lived at their home, while their children reside in Chattogram and Dhaka for their studies, reports UNB.
