Police recovered the body of a man from a pond in Kotchandpur upazila of Jhenaidah on Thursday, four days after he went missing while fishing.

The deceased was identified as Mofizul Islam, 35, son of Moslem Uddin of Harindia village in the upazila.

Locals said Mofizul went missing on Monday after he went for fishing in a pond near his house.

Family members searched for him in different places throughout the day but failed to find him.

Four days later, local residents spotted his body floating in the pond and informed police.

On receiving the information, a team of Kotchandpur police went to the spot and recovered the body, reports UNB.

Officer-in-Charge of Kotchandpur Police Station Azad Rahman said the body is being sent to the district hospital morgue for an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death.
