Oman Launches Free 14-Day Tourist Visa for 100+ Countries

Oman has introduced a free 14-day tourist visa for citizens of more than 100 countries as part of efforts to attract more visitors and expand its tourism sector.

The new policy came into effect after being published in the Official Gazette under Royal Oman Police Decision No. 109/2026.

Under the revised entry rules, eligible foreign nationals can enter Oman without paying visa fees and stay for up to 14 days.

Travellers must have a passport valid for at least six months, a confirmed hotel booking, a return or onward air ticket, valid health insurance and sufficient funds to cover their stay.

Authorities said the initiative aims to simplify travel procedures, increase tourist arrivals and support Oman's economic diversification efforts through tourism growth.

The visa exemption is available only for tourism purposes and does not allow visitors to work or stay long term.

Citizens of countries including the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, Japan and most European nations are eligible for the facility.

However, Bangladeshi ordinary passport holders are not included in the visa-free scheme and must continue to obtain a visa before travelling to Oman.
