3 More Die of Dengue, Bangladesh Reports 580 Cases

Three more people have died from dengue in Bangladesh in the past 24 hours, while 580 new cases were reported across the country, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

The latest figures were released in a DGHS statement on Monday afternoon, covering the 24-hour period until 8:00am on Monday.

With the latest deaths, the nationwide dengue death toll has reached 56 this year.

Among the newly reported cases, 125 patients were from Dhaka Division outside the two city corporations, while 81 were reported from Barishal Division, 79 from Chattogram Division, 78 from Dhaka South City Corporation, 67 from Khulna Division, 59 from Dhaka North City Corporation, 36 from Rajshahi Division, 31 from Rangpur Division and 2 from Sylhet Division.

DGHS data showed that a total of 16,684 dengue patients have been admitted to hospitals across the country since January.

Currently, 1,281 patients are receiving treatment at hospitals nationwide, while 15,344 patients have recovered and been discharged.

Health authorities have urged people to remain alert and take preventive measures, including eliminating mosquito breeding grounds, as dengue infections continue to spread.
