
He said they must practise healthy and proper politics while reflecting the aspirations and expectations of people.
He made the remarks while speaking at a doa mahfil organised by Dhaka South City BNP at the AGB Colony in Motijheel at noon, marking the 81st birthday of former prime minister and ex-BNP chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia, and the 57th birthday of her late son Arafat Rahman Koko.
BNP Standing Committee member Advocate Ruhul Kabir Rizvi attended the doa mahfil as the chief guest.
Ishraque Hossain said, “We will uphold the political etiquette and lessons taught to us by our leader, how to speak with political opponents and how to reflect the aspirations and expectations of people in practising healthy and proper politics.”
He said the party would conduct its activities in the coming days so that the government formed with overwhelming public support in the democratic political process could remain sustainable, reports UNB.
