DMP arrests 482 in 24-hour anti-crime drive

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested 482 people and filed 32 cases during its regular anti-crime drives across the capital in the 24 hours until Saturday morning.


Of the total, 119 were arrested by Mirpur division, 59 by Uttara, 57 by Motijheel, 56 by Tejgaon, 55 by Wari, 44 each by Ramna and Lalbagh, 39 by Gulshan and nine by the Detective Branch, according to a DMP statement.

During the drives, police recovered 13,914 Yaba tables, 913 grams of heroin and 32 kilograms of cannabis, a gold jewelry, and fake notes of worth Tk 16,000, nine mobile phone sets, three laptops, two CPUs, two tablets, 55 SIM cards and Tk 2.68 lakh in cash, reports UNB.
