Bangladesh Coast Guard (BCG) Director General Rear Admiral Md Ziaul Haque today said the force is fully prepared to maintain a free, fair, peaceful, neutral, and festive atmosphere for the upcoming national elections on February 12.

"A special security zone has been set up, particularly in the coastal areas. Through effective preparations, the Coast Guard will ensure a neutral and peaceful election," he said.

Speaking at a press briefing at Elisha Government Primary School, located between the Rajapur and Kachia contingents of Bhola Sadar Upazila, the DG said Coast Guard patrolling activities are ongoing across the district.

He added that local residents are increasingly aware of the Coast Guard's presence and support.

"Coast Guard operations will enable voters to cast their ballots without fear. Any miscreants or saboteurs will be identified, and necessary legal action will be taken to protect the integrity of the election," he said.

The DG also said that modern technology, including drones, will be used for security surveillance during the polls. Fast boats and launches have been arranged to ensure the safety of voters and facilitate communication in remote and isolated char areas of Bhola district, reports BSS.
