Pope Leo XIV on Friday expressed deep concern over the escalating violence in the occupied West Bank and the worsening humanitarian crisis in Gaza, affirming that Palestinians have the right to live peacefully in their own land.

He said violence against Palestinian civilians in the West Bank has increased alarmingly, stressing that such actions violate their fundamental right to peace and security. The Pope also highlighted the dire situation in Gaza, where civilians continue to suffer amid prolonged conflict and instability.

Emphasising justice and human dignity, he said the people of Gaza must also be assured a future rooted in lasting peace and fairness in their own land. The Pope reiterated his call for an end to violence and urged the international community to work towards a just and sustainable solution that guarantees safety and rights for all civilians.
