25-02-2025 - The Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), H.E. Hissein Brahim Taha, welcomed the members of the Permanent Representatives Committee to their meeting held today, February 25, 2025, at the OIC General Secretariat headquarters.

This meeting is part of the OIC reform process, in accordance with resolution No. 6 adopted by the 50th session of the Council of Foreign Ministers held in Yaoundé in August 2024.

The main objective of the meeting is to discuss and identify priority issues in the OIC reform process, including the streamlining of OIC resolutions and the outcome of the meeting.

The Secretary-General stressed the importance of this reform in enhancing the OIC’s effectiveness and relevance to global challenges. He also highlighted the growing interest of member states in streamlining OIC documents.

The meeting aims to encourage member states to propose solutions that will improve decision-making and strengthen the impact of collective efforts.

The General Secretariat has prepared a preliminary discussion document, which has been distributed to member states.

The discussions during this meeting will contribute to formulating concrete recommendations to enhance the effectiveness and relevance of the OIC. – OIC News
