Mass Turnout Shows Nation’s Democratic Victory

Election Commissioner Abul Fazal Md Sanaullah on Thursday said the strong and spontaneous participation of voters in the 13th Jatiya Sangsad Election demonstrated the nation’s collective victory.

He made the remarks while announcing the official results at the Election Building in Agargaon at 11am.

Sanaullah said the commission had one clear pledge to the country: to conduct a neutral election. He noted that every effort was made to fulfil that commitment and expressed gratitude to voters for taking part in large numbers.

According to him, the commission treated the election not merely as an administrative duty but as a sacred trust. He also said earlier concerns and negative predictions were dispelled by the overwhelming turnout on polling day.

Expressing hope for the future, he said Bangladesh’s democracy should remain firmly on its course and that the latest election could serve as a benchmark for organising even better polls ahead.

Senior Secretary of the EC Secretariat Akhtar Ahmed and other officials were present at the briefing.
