
Salim Ahmad Khan, Team Leader of the OCV-SDI project on expatriate voter registration, told BSS on Saturday that by 11:30 am, ballots have been dispatched to all 518,603 registered domestic voters.
Of them, 7,367 voters have received their ballots. So far, 4,902 voters have cast their votes, while 2,394 have submitted their ballots to post offices or letter boxes, he added.
Meanwhile, 458,059 expatriate voters registered through the app have already exercised their franchise. EC data showed that as of 11:30 am Saturday, 766,862 ballots had reached expatriate voters’ destinations, of which 518,345 were received.
A total of 458,059 expatriates cast their votes, and 410,928 ballots were submitted to post offices or letter boxes abroad, reports BSS.
Additionally, 144,860 expatriate ballots have already reached Bangladesh.
Salim Ahmad Khan added that altogether 15,33,684 voters - both domestic and expatriates - registered through the “Postal Vote BD” app to participate in the 13th JS election and referendum.
