BNP Nominates Mirza Fakhrul for Presidential Election

The Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) has nominated its Secretary General and Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives Minister Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir as its candidate for the upcoming presidential election.

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman nominated Fakhrul as the party’s presidential candidate on Sunday, according to party sources.

The presidential election is scheduled to be held on 20 August.
