Dengue: 3 more die, 994 new hospitalized in 24 hours

Health officials today said they recorded 994 fresh cases of dengue onslaughts killing at least three persons in the past 24 hours.


“During the period, (of the 994) 117 patients were hospitalised in Barishal division, 107 in Chattogram division, 158 in Dhaka division, 126 in Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) and 97 in Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) areas, 215 in Khulna division, 71 in Mymensingh division, 76 in Rajshahi division, 23 in Rangpur division and four in Sylhet division, a Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) statement said.

Since the start of the dengue onslaughts Bangladesh this year witnessed so far 85 deaths while the disease inflicted 29,923.

The dengue last year claimed 413 lives and inflicted 1,02,861 people in the country, reports BSS.

Besides, the dengue claimed 575 lives and inflicted 1,01,214 people in 2024.
