Passenger Arrested with 8,400 Yaba Pills at Dhaka Airport
A passenger was arrested at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka on February 28 after attempting to smuggle 8,400 yaba pills.
The arrest took place at Check-in Row-C, where Aviation Security (AVSEC) personnel intercepted the suspect while they were preparing to board US-Bangla Airlines flight BS-337 to the Maldives.
During a routine security screening, AVSEC officers scanned the passenger's luggage and uncovered the yaba pills hidden inside.
Following the discovery, the individual was immediately detained and escorted to authorities for further investigation. The detained passenger and the seized drugs have been handed over to the airport branch of the Department of Narcotics Control for further legal action.
The incident highlights the vigilance of airport security in preventing drug trafficking, with authorities ensuring swift legal proceedings.
