Five robbers arrested with country-made weapons in Savar

Police in a drive arrested five robbers with country-made weapons form Nayarhat area under Ashulia police station this morning.


On a tip-off, a joint team of DB police conducted a drive in the area and arrested the robbers while they were preparing for a robbery.

The arrested robbers are Khaer Hossain, 34, Kabir Hossain, 30, Suman Miah, 32, Imran Ali, 32, and Saiful Islam, 29.

During the drive, the team also seized a mini pickup van and different types of locally-made weapons. They are active members of an inter-district robbery gang, reports BSS.

Besides, Savar Model Thana Police arrested a man named Idris Khan, 50, from the Anandapur area of Savar and recovered Taka 7 lakh looted earlier by him.

Dhaka district additional superintendent of police (Savar Circle) Shahinur Kabir confirmed both the matters at a press conference held at Savar Model Police Station in the afternoon.
