Biman to Resume Direct Dhaka–Karachi Flights Jan 29

Biman Bangladesh Airlines is set to restart direct flights on the Dhaka–Karachi–Dhaka route from January 29, restoring non-stop air connectivity between Bangladesh and Pakistan after more than a decade.
The national flag carrier will initially operate two direct flights per week, according to a senior Biman official.
The relaunch follows clearance from the Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority, which has approved Biman’s operations on the route and granted access to Pakistani airspace through designated corridors.
At present, passengers travelling between the two countries largely rely on connecting flights via regional hubs such as Dubai and Doha. The resumption of direct services is expected to reduce travel time, ease passenger movement and encourage greater trade and people-to-people contacts.
Biman officials said discussions with Pakistani authorities had been ongoing for several months to revive the route. The upcoming launch will mark the first direct air service between Dhaka and Karachi since 2012.
The renewed air link comes amid signs of improving bilateral relations, supported by recent diplomatic engagements between the two countries.
