Dhaka, Mar 9 — The Cabinet Division has instructed deputy commissioners (DCs) across the country to operate mobile courts to prevent illegal hoarding and overpricing of fuel oil.

The directive was issued in a letter sent to all DCs on Monday.

According to the letter, the move follows a request from the Energy and Mineral Resources Division, which urged the Cabinet Division to instruct local administrations to take immediate action to maintain stability in the fuel market.

The letter said mobile courts should be conducted to prevent illegal hoarding of fuel oil, sales at prices higher than the government-fixed rates, unauthorised open market sales and smuggling.

The initiative aims to maintain discipline in the fuel market and prevent any artificial crisis, it added. - UNB
