Two cousins killed in Sylhet road crash

Two youths were killed in a road accident in the Taltala area of city early hours of today.


The deceased were identified as Emon Das, 23, a resident of Mirzajangal area in the city and his cousin Deepta Das, 22, son of Gaurang Das of Zindabazar area. 

According to the Taltala unit of the Fire Service and Civil Defence, the accident occurred around 1:30 am. The motorcycle reportedly crashed under circumstances that are yet to be determined, leaving both riders critically injured at the scene.

Fire Service personnel rushed to the spot after receiving information and sent them to Sylhet Osmani Medical College Hospital where on-duty doctors declared them dead on arrival.

Confirming the incident, Sub-Inspector Khorshed Alam of Kotwali Police Station said the bodies have been kept at the hospital morgue. He added that the exact cause of the accident could not be immediately confirmed, reports UNB.
