Two killed in Bogura road crash
Two people were killed and seven others injured in a road accident in Shahjahanpur upazila of the district early this morning.
The accident occurred around 4am in Noymile bus stand area on the Dhaka-Bogura highway when a microbus collided head-on with a corn-laden truck, leaving microbus driver and a passenger dead on the spot and seven others injured, said Ayub Ali, Officer-in-Charge of Sherpur Highway Police Station.
The deceased were microbus driver Ferdous Mondol, 25, son of Faruk Mondol of Gopinathpur village in Akkelpur upazila of Joypurhat and Zubayedul Islam, 30, son of Hasher Ali of Barail village in the same upazila.
The seven injured passengers were rescued and admitted to Bogura Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital.
Police said a man was returning home from abroad, accompanied by seven relatives, and travelling from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport to Akkelpur in the microbus.
OC Ayub Ali said legal proceedings in connection with the incident are underway, reports BSS.
