3 BAF members killed as pickup falls from flyover onto Dhaka airport

Three members of the Bangladesh Air Force (BAF) were killed and four others injured after a BAF pickup fell from a flyover at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport’s third terminal on Monday night.


The accident occurred around 10:20pm while the BAF personnel were performing their regular duty at the third terminal, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Directorate.

The pickup lost control and plunged from the flyover onto the second floor of the third terminal, leaving three BAF members dead at the scene and four others injured.

The deceased were identified as Warrant Officer Mahmud, Corporal Piyas and LAC Jubaidul.

The injured are Corporal Sifat/Abu Sayeed, Corporal Mahbub and LAC Ahad, who sustained critical injuries, and senior officer Abul Khair, who suffered minor injuries, reports UNB.

The injured and the bodies were taken to Combined Military Hospital (CMH), Dhaka.

ISPR's Lt Col Sami Ud Dowla Chowdhury confirmed the incident.
