4 killed as bus crashes into auto-rickshaw in Jamalpur

Four passengers of an auto-rickshaw were killed and four others injured after a bus rammed the vehicle on the Jamalpur-Mymensingh highway in Jamalpur Sadar upazila on Monday evening.


The accident occurred around 6:30pm near the Laharikanda Eidgah ground, police said.

A Dhaka-bound bus of Rajib Paribahan hit the auto-rickshaw, leaving it trapped underneath the bus. Four passengers of the auto-rickshaw were killed in the accident, while four others were injured.

The injured were taken to Jamalpur General Hospital for treatment.

The identities of the deceased could not be immediately identified, reports UNB.

Officer-in-Charge of Jamalpur Sadar Police Station Nazmus Sakib said the number of casualties could increase.
