16 terrorists killed in Pakistan's Balochistan

At least 16 terrorists were killed in separate security operations across Pakistan's southwestern Balochistan province, security officials said Wednesday.

In Mastung district, security forces killed nine terrorists after they attempted to attack a security checkpost. One soldier was injured during a heavy exchange of fire, and security personnel recovered heavy weapons, ammunition and three motorcycles from the scene. Security officials said that operations will continue until the threat is eliminated.

Meanwhile, local police killed five terrorists in an exchange of fire after an early morning attack on a police station in the Aghbarg area on the outskirts of Quetta. Police personnel deployed at the station returned fire immediately, neutralizing the attackers.

Separately, security forces killed two more terrorists during an intelligence-based operation in Turbat. -UNB
