Youth found dead at Hasina’s residence in Dhanmondi

Police recovered the hanging body of a 20-year-old man from Sudha Sadan, the former residence of ex-Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in the Dhanmondi area of the capital on Saturday.


The deceased was identified as Shakil, son of Sekandar Ali Matubbar and Asma Begum. He lived in the Shibpur Tile Office area of Jigatola under Mohammadpur.

Police said the body was recovered at around 11am after locals informed them. It was later sent to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital morgue for an autopsy following the due procedures.

Md Waduzzaman, Sub-Inspector (SI) of Dhanmondi Police Station, said the body was found hanging with a noose around the neck.

He said the Crime Scene Unit of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) identified the deceased through fingerprint analysis, reports UNB.

The exact cause of death has not yet been determined, and an investigation is underway, the police officer added.
