They succumbed to the toxic gas that had accumulated within the tank, dying on the spot. After a prolonged period without any response from them, local residents informed the police.

Subsequently, the police retrieved the bodies and transported them to the morgue of Chattogram Medical College and Hospital (CMCH) for autopsy.

Meanwhile, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Raojan Police Station Jasim Uddin reported that two construction workers perished while working on the septic tank of a house under construction owned by Ratan Doctor in Jhikuti Para of Noapara Union around this noon.

The deceased were Pradip Das from the Kachukhain area of Raojan and Samiran Das from the Kadurkhil area of Boalkhali upazila. Pradip was the son-in-law of the house owner, Ratan Doctor.
