Police recovered the floating body of an elderly man from the Rupsha River in Khulna city this morning.

The deceased was identified as Anil Kumar Saha, 80, a resident of the WAPDA embankment area on Belayet Hossain Road in the city.

The body was recovered around 10.30 am from in front of Rocky Dock in the city's No. 2 Custom Ghat area.

Officer-in-Charge of Rupsha Naval Outpost Abul Khair said Anil Kumar Saha had gone missing after entering the Rupsha River for a bath near Alam Saheb's Ice Factory Ghat at around 9am on June 1.

Since then, he had remained untraced despite efforts to locate him, he said.

Police recovered the floating body from the river after being informed by local residents this morning, the officer added, reports BSS.

The body will be handed over to the family after completion of legal formalities, he said.
