Ferry operations on the Aricha-Kazirhat and Paturia-Daulatdia routes resumed on Saturday morning after  three and a half hours of suspension due to dense fog.

Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Corporation (BIWTC) Aricha sector Deputy General Manager Abdus Salam said ferry services resumed around 7:30 am.

He said the decision to halt operations was taken to avoid navigational hazards caused by poor visibility due to thick fog.

Ferries named Motiur Rahman and Enayetpuri were among those stranded during the disruption.

Four ferries with passengers and vehicles were stranded at the Paturia terminal while three others remained stuck at the Daulatdia terminal, reports UNB.
