Launch services on Paturia-Daulatdia route resumed after 13 hours of suspension on Saturday.

Panna Lal Nandi, manager of Paturia Launch Ghat, said the ferry services resumed around 7:30 am from the Koroitola area near Paturia’s No. 1 ferry ghat.

“The launches are operating temporarily from Koraitola bank but without a pontoon which makes passenger boarding highly risky,” he said.

Earlier, the operation of the launch services on the route remained suspended on Tuesday evening as the main jetty at the Paturia launch terminal was washed away due to river erosion .

However, the authorities had shifted launch operations to the pontoon of Paturia’s No. 2 ferry terminal, reports UNB.

But due to the strong current, the ramp of the makeshift terminal submerged due to strong current on Friday evening, forcing the authorities to suspend the launch services.
