13 hotels in Bangladesh receive prestigious SATA Award

24 December 2023: South Asian Travel Awards (SATA) 2023 - Celebration of Excellence, organized by Bangladesh International Hotel Association (BIHA), concluded with a spectacular recognition of outstanding achievements in the hotel industry in South Asia.  SATA stands out as one of the region's most prestigious awards, recognizing the contributions of hotels, airlines, and companies that have contributed to the growth and success of the travel and tourism sector.

The annual SATA event plays an important role in promoting the South Asian travel and tourism industry. The award ceremony highlights the achievements of hotels, airlines, and destinations, fostering an atmosphere of excellence and innovation.

The Bangladesh International Hotel Association (BIHA), as the local agent of SATA in Bangladesh, has played an important role in supporting and facilitating awards in the country. BIHA, representing over 51 international hotels, is a leading body in the hospitality industry.

SATA has received approvals from more than 15 international and government organizations, including the Association of Professionals in Tourism (APT), Association of Tourism Trade Organizations, India (ATTOI), and Maldives Marketing and PR Corporation (MMPRC).  This widespread recognition underscores SATA's commitment to improving tourism and hospitality in the region.

Unlike traditional award ceremonies that often involve financial contributions for registration or nomination, SATA follows a transparent process.

Winners of South Asian Travel Awards 2023:

Out of the 29 nominated hotels, 13 hotels in Bangladesh received the prestigious SATA Award in different categories.  The winners are as follows:

8. The Golden Tulip The Grand Mark-Dhaka - Leading Eco-Friendly Resort

9. The The Westin Dhaka - Leading F&B Hotels/Resorts

10. Ocean Paradise Hotel & Resort - Leading Family Resort

11. Hotel Agrabad - Leading Heritage Hotel/Resort

12. Palace Luxury Resort - Leading Palace Hotel

13. Momo Inn Park & Resort - Leading Riverfront Hotel/Resort

Special Recognition: Mr. Ashwani Nair, General Manager, InterContinental Dhaka has been awarded the "Best GM in South Asia" award.

Mr. H. M. Hakim Ali has been awarded as the "Tourism Face of South Asia".

Chief Guest: Mr. Md. Mokammel Hossain, Secretary of the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism was present as the Chief Guest.
