Iran has removed all restrictions on the range of its domestically developed missiles and is prepared to respond firmly to any threat on the battlefield, a spokesperson for the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has said.

Brigadier General Hossein Mohebbi made the remarks at a press conference in Tehran on Saturday, held at a cultural centre as part of IRGC Aerospace Week.

Mohebbi said Iran had used its domestic expertise and vast geographical landscape to establish numerous underground missile bases, known as “missile cities”.

Referring to what he described as a past war imposed by the United States, he claimed Iranian forces had shot down 260 enemy aircraft. He said Iran continued its work despite repeated enemy bombardments and moved weapons production facilities from above ground to secure underground locations.

He also claimed that Iranian forces had recently brought down seven MQM-170 surveillance drones intact over the past two weeks, describing the development as evidence of the country's technological progress.

The IRGC spokesperson issued a warning to Washington and Tel Aviv, saying any miscalculation by the United States or Israel would prompt a response whose consequences would be felt for years.

He added that if another war broke out, the world would witness new Iranian military capabilities that would surprise its adversaries.

During the briefing, Mohebbi highlighted three major achievements of the IRGC Aerospace Force.

First, he said Iran had developed its own technology rather than relying on foreign weapons, transforming the country from an arms importer into an arms exporter.

Second, he cited the development of weapons such as the Arman missile, the 358 drone and the Khordad-3 air defence system, saying these technologies were now being supplied to other countries.

Third, he claimed Iran had achieved complete self-sufficiency in military equipment and no longer depended on other countries for any components.

He added that members of the public would have an opportunity to see some of the country's latest technologies up close during the ongoing Aerospace Week.
