"Establishing lasting peace and stability in Rakhine is essential for the safe, voluntary, and dignified return of the Rohingyas. We are actively pursuing all necessary diplomatic channels to achieve this goal," Alam said during a press briefing at the Foreign Service Academy in Dhaka.
He emphasized that the government is committed to ensuring the voluntary return of the Rohingyas, while also promoting peaceful coexistence between the Rohingya people and local communities in Myanmar.
Addressing a question about reforms in the Election Commission (EC), Alam explained that once the government finalizes an agreement with political parties, the EC will move forward with implementing the reform proposals that are collectively agreed upon.
In response to another query, Alam confirmed that proposals from the six reform commissions have been sent to all political parties for review and are currently under scrutiny.
