"We want to create a situation where democracy is strengthened, and the country is governed transparently. To achieve this, 13 crore voters must exercise their voting rights freely," said Moyeen Khan, also the BNP-nominated candidate for Narsingdi-2 (Palash) constituency.
Addressing an election campaign meeting organized by Meherpara Union today, he said that over the past two decades, people could not vote freely, with votes allegedly cast in advance.
"We aim to end fake and overnight voting and restore democracy through free and fair elections," he added.
Referring to BNP leaders' persecution, he said, "Begum Khaleda Zia was confined under false charges, and Tarique Rahman was sent into exile through fabricated cases. On 12 February, voters must exercise their sacred right to vote - a weapon without bullets - to restore democracy."
Dr. Moyeen Khan's daughter Dr. Shahrin Khan, Palash Upazila BNP President Abdus Sattar, Palash Municipality BNP President Alam Molla and other BNP leaders were present, reports BSS.
