BNP Standing Committee Member Mirza Abbas today said the party's Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman will soon return to the country.

"He (Tarique) will soon return to the country and take the helm of both the people and politics. He will also further advance the country's people through new ideas and thoughts."

Mirza Abbas made the remarks in the inauguration ceremony at the fourth day of the BNP's 7-day programme titled 'Plan for Nation Building' at the Krishibid Institution Bangladesh (KIB) Convention Hall in the city.

With BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi in the chair, BNP joint secretary general Habib-un -Nabi Khan Sohel moderated the event while senior leaders of the party  spoke on the occasion.

Different units of Bangladesh Jatiyatabadi Juba Dal and Krishak Dal from the city participated in the event, reports BSS.

Mentioning the necessity of BNP Chairperson and former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia in the politics, he said, "Khaleda Zia is desperately needed for the country right now. She is an educated guardian, and all parties acknowledge this. She has proven herself to be an incomparable leader."

"Begum Zia has demonstrated that she is the guardian of everyone, irrespective of party affiliation, religion, or caste. I have never seen so many prayers organized for anyone in the past. Everyone, everywhere, has prayed for her. May the prayers of all reach the Creator for her return," he added.

He also commented that those who are talking about reforms do not know what reforms need to be implemented. He said, "Those who speak of reform do not truly understand what reform means. For them, reform only means staying in power."
