EC to hold talks today with BNP, Jamaat, NCP, 10 other parties

The Election Commission (EC) is set to continue its ongoing dialogue ahead of the 13th Jatiya Sangsad election by engaging with 13 registered political parties today, including Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), National Citizen Party (NCP) and Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami.


The talks are going to take place for the fourth day at the conference room of Nirbachan Bhaban in the capital's Agargaon, with Chief Election Commissioner AMM Nasir Uddin presiding over the session, Assistant Director (Public Relations) of the EC Secretariat and Alternate Spokesperson Md. Ashadul Haque told BSS.

He said the EC will sit in dialogue from 10:30 am to 12:30pm with Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, Bangladesh Minority Janata Party-BMJP, Insaniyat Biplob Bangladesh, National Citizen Party (NCP), Gonosanghati Andolon, Nationalist Democratic Movement (NDM) and Bangladesh Labour Party.

Besides, from 2 pm to 4 pm, the EC will hold exchange of views with Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), Bangladesh Jatiya Party (BJP), Gono Odhikar Parishad (GOP), Nagorik Oikya, Bangladesh Republican Party (BRP) and Bangladesh Samajtantrik Dal (BASAD) Marxist.

Earlier, on November 13, 16 and 17, the EC held electoral dialogues with 36 registered political parties in two sessions on each day, reports BSS.
